Good Samaritan Pediatric Ward
We installed Virtual Offices for every bed within the Pediatric Unit at Good
Samaritan Hospital in West Islip. A typical office has laptops loaded with
office automation software, email access, Internet capability, fax/copy/printer
unit, etc, all of which utilizes the wireless environment we also created. A new
standard for pediatric care at medical facilities around the world, the Virtual
Offices allow hospitalized children to communicate online with friends and
family, permit parents to keep up with their work without having to leave their
sick child's side and aid siblings who need to spend time at the hospital and
still get their homework done.

SamariKids Festival
The Bob Venero Children's Foundation comes out year-after-year, to support Good
Samaritan Hospital's annual SamariKids Festival in the spring. SamariKids is a wonderful party that
celebrates the children that are battling chronic illnesses and terminal
conditions who either have been or continue to be treated at Good Samaritan.
This is a day that commemorates the resiliency of the children, and our
unwavering commitment to making their lives just a little bit easier during this
difficult time. The festival included arts and crafts, computer games,
finger-painting, button-making, magic shows and surprise guests from Ronald
McDonald and Mr. LI Duck. The
Foundation donates laptops, monitors and computers. Our foundation volunteers help with
our technology table where the children can play games on laptops during the
festival. Every child goes home with
a photo of their smiling faces and something to remember the day!
